NodeWorks Directory
|
2002 to Current |
 |
|
The NodeWorks Directory is an optimized link directory based on the
Open Directory Project database.
We publish over 2.5 million links that are checked on a weekly basis,
and content is streamed compressed to web client readers. Our 2D search
technology allows users to search on content by keyword and directory location
which enables a higher degree of relevancy based on category groupings
than just keyword searching alone.

NodeWorks
|
1997 to Current |

|
NodeWorks was the first venture that our business was founded upon.
When we started building it in 1997, we had little idea of the lack
of available software to build such a product on sub-$50K "commodity hardware".
Many database vendors later, we worked with the MySQL founder Monty Widenius to optimize the MyISAM core for our scalable system needs, increasing concurrent read/write access.
In addition, we needed a rich, scalable, and secure web application environment,
so we authored Apache::ASP to fill this void.
Now we have a world class service built upon expertise acquired in
scalable web applications with Apache::ASP and
mod_perl, and large databases (VLDB) with MySQL
and Oracle. We currently run multi-gigabyte OLTP databases with hundreds of millions of rows.

Apache::ASP
|
1998 to Current |
 |
|
After researching the state of the art for web development in 1998 for our NodeWorks product,
we discovered web application environments to be severely lacking, plagued with either
security or performance problems.
So we ported ASP for Perl scripting to Unix/Linux,
Apache & mod_perl in the final form of Apache::ASP, and never looked back.
Today Apache::ASP is used by a large user community, and we support its continued
development as our contribution back to the open source community. Please
see our open source page for more contributions we have made.
